Living (and computing) on the edge with Coherent Logix

The technology that we rely on today – and that we’re building for the future – all have something familiar at their core – chips. But taking an idea and turning it into a product has considerable development costs, especially when building hardware products such as cameras, radios, and other internet of things (IoT) devices that require a specialized set of chips to make them work. That’s all starting to change thanks to David Johnston Research + Technology Park tenant Coherent Logix’s work.

Addressing climate change with the Waterloo Climate Institute

The issues causing the climate crisis aren’t restricted to individuals or industries. Solving them takes a unified approach that brings individuals, businesses, organizations, and governments together to ensure we leave a liveable planet for future generations. Working together to accelerate the transition to a just, equitable, inclusive low-carbon future is the vision of the Waterloo Climate Institute at the University of Waterloo.

R+T Park Community Impact Fund Donates $15,000 to Sexual Assault Support Centre

Thanks to funds raised from our first ever Charity Disc Golf Tournament held in R+T Park, the Community Impact Committee was able to add to our contribution from the David Johnston R+T Park Community Impact Fund held at the Waterloo Region Community Foundation (WRCF) and donate $15,000 of unrestricted funding to SASC. More than 40 players and volunteers laughed as they hurled their custom Waterloo Warriors discs towards metal baskets down the grassy slopes of the UWaterloo Disc Golf Course, many for the first time ever. It was exactly what we’d hoped for – people coming together as teams, having fun, trying something new, and all for a great cause.
