The R+T Park Tenant’s Fund is excited to announce our support for KidsAbility this year at the annual ‘Kids Can’t Wait’ Radioathon fundraiser event. Thanks to the generosity of our tenants and partners, and the hard work of R+T Park’s Community Impact Committee, KidsAbility was presented with a $10 000 donation.

KidsAbility is a dynamic, multi-faceted organization that serves nearly 8,000 children and youth with a wide range of special needs annually. This includes children with developmental disabilities and delays related to premature birth, medical syndromes such as Down syndrome, coordination disorders, and autism; physical disabilities such as muscular dystrophy, spina bifida and cerebral palsy; communication difficulties in language, articulation, fluency and voice. KidsAbility provides therapy and support to many children who do not yet have a diagnosis.

KidsAbility School provides half-day special education programs for junior kindergarten children with special needs. The School operates under Section 68 of the Education Act of the Province of Ontario and is funded by the Ministry of Education. Approximately 100 children attend the KidsAbility Schools located in Cambridge and Waterloo.  The vision of the KidsAbility School is to prepare children with complex social needs for school success. KidsAbility’s unique school environment empowers our students to achieve continued success.

KidsAbility’s passionate and talented team of staff and volunteers provide therapy and support services that are accessible, seamless, and focused on child and family-centred care. In order to be as close as possible to where children and youth with special needs and their families live, learn, work and play, KidsAbility offers a wide range of services at multiple sites in Waterloo, Cambridge, Kitchener, Fergus, and Guelph.

R+T Park and our tenants are thrilled to be able to support the amazing efforts of this organization. To learn more about KidsAbility or how you can help click here.
