University of Waterloo strikes again: ‘Research University of the Year’

The University of Waterloo has been considered one of the most comprehensive Canadian universities for seven years now, according to Research Infosource rankings. 

Feridun Hamdullahpur, president and vice-chancellor of the university exclaims, “We are so proud to have this distinction… This recognition is the result of so much hard work by tireless researchers who are finding innovative ways to improve lives, change the way we see the world and address the challenges of today and the future.”

Canada’s Top 50 Research Universities states that uWaterloo ranks first in development of research income, mostly in the medical and doctoral field. Although the university has no medical school, it gained almos $167 million in research income in the past year.
