Join the BioBlitz 2026: Discover the Biodiversity Around Us

Calling all nature lovers! David Johnston Research + Technology Park is teaming up with the Sustainability Office at the University of Waterloo for their fourth annual BioBlitz. This community initiative invites participants to explore, identify, and record the species living among us, including plants, animals, insects, and fungi, across R+T Park and the University of Waterloo campus.

From September 21 at 7:00 a.m. to September 25 at 5:00 p.m., identify as many organisms as possible in R+T Park and around campus for a chance to win prizes. This fun, friendly challenge is open to everyone in the R+T Park community. Whether you’re a biodiversity expert or just getting started, there’s room for everyone to get involved.

Download the iNaturalist app (free on IOS and Android), join the “BioBlitz 2026: R+T Park” project, and let the fun begin! The three individuals who record the greatest number of species will win prizes. See the contest rules for details.
