Accelerator Centre launches new program to drive innovation in Fintech and Quantum Technologies

The new programming will support 6-8 scaling companies to develop potential proof of concept and pilot projects with EY Canada and their key fintech clients.

Today, the Accelerator Center (AC), housed here in the David Johnston Research + Technology Park, announced a new collaboration with EY Canada, a leading professional services firm, to launch a groundbreaking corporate innovation program aimed at propelling innovation in fintech leveraging AI and quantum technologies.

This pioneering collaboration between the Accelerator Center and EY represents a significant stride towards fostering groundbreaking advancements in the realms of finance and technology. By merging expertise and resources, both organizations are poised to advance the development and adoption of disruptive innovations at the intersection of fintech, artificial intelligence, and quantum technologies.

“This program is a big opportunity for fintech entrepreneurs to accelerate their growth and increase their impact. By leveraging the AC’s program structure and the expertise from the team at EY, founders will have the opportunity to access the full strength of the Waterloo innovation ecosystem and pave a pathway for deeper collaboration, driving transformative change, and global impact.”

Ruth Casselman, Interim CEO, Accelerator Centre

The 4-week program will feature a comprehensive curriculum tailored to empower entrepreneurs with the tools, knowledge, and mentorship necessary to navigate the complexities of these cutting-edge fields and prepare them for pilot projects with EY and their portfolio of financial services clients.

The program will culminate in a demo day held at the Accelerator Centre’s headquarters in Waterloo. This event will serve as a platform for program participants to showcase their innovative solutions and engage with key stakeholders, investors, and industry leaders. The demo day will also be part of EY’s “Waterloo Day”, a showcase event that highlights the region’s innovation ecosystem to industry-leading clients.

“We look forward to working alongside the Accelerator Centre to propel innovation in Canada’s fintech ecosystem through disruptive technologies. As proud supporters of Canadian entrepreneurship for more than 30 years, we relish the opportunity to spark unique connections that contribute to our nation’s economic growth and success through exciting, ground-breaking initiatives, such as this one.”
