The IASP’s 30th annual meeting, with the theme “Science Parks Shape New City,” was held from October 14 to October 17 in Recife, Brazil, and the participants selected Zhongguancun as the host of the 2015 IASP annual meeting.
Zhongguancun Science Park showed a video introducing the park and representatives also addressed the participants. The park beat contenders including ComoNExT (Italy), Technopark Sarov CSJC (Russia), Poznan Science and Technology Park (Poland).
The authorities expect that this achievement will increase the park’s ability to attract global innovation resources and enhance the international competitiveness of Zhongguancun enterprises. It will also help consolidate the park’s position in the international innovation network, its status as a cluster of high-end resources and as a hub for innovation in China.
Representatives of Zhongguancun said the park is focused on its aim to be a science and technology innovation center of global influence. It intends to increase cooperation with internationally renowned innovation centers, and it also aims to continue creating cutting-edge technology, bring in top talent, and attract R&D centers of multinationals, well-known research institutes and industrial organizations.
