Cisco Incubation Centre taps into video

Srinivasan Keshav remembers with a shudder the early days of video-conferencing.

In the late 1980s, videos were grainy, the lighting terrible and cameras bulky and conspicuous. The whole experience was more of a hassle than a help, he says.

Keshav, a computer science professor at the University of Waterloo, recalls predicting that someone would soon upgrade the technology to something that was far better.
